THE WATERFRONT HOTEL REFURB

Y Spa is currently closed until 17th January 2022 to complete an exciting refurbishment project, within the public and dining areas in the Hotel and Y Spa. We hope this won’t cause too much inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding while we create something special.

COVID SAFE

We are keeping in place the allocated thermal slots for our spa guests to ensure enhanced cleaning in between sessions. These are automatically booked steam and sauna sessions for 45 mins within each package. This session allows our guests to use the heat room area within this time, whilst still choosing which room to use. Extra time can be added, just visit the spa reception. These times are down to the spa guest to abide by.

Y Spa is open to over 18s only.

 

SPA BOOKING

  • Use of our Y Spa facilities, which include the Hydrotherapy Pool and Thermal Spa is not automatically included in your reservation unless you have purchased a spa package. If you wish to use the spa facilities, please book in advance to avoid disappointment. All our overnight Spa packages include access to Y Spa, for any other overnight packages, use of Y Spa is pre-bookable in advance of your stay.
  • Due to the intimate nature of the Y Spa, we operate a strict no groups policy, and the maximum booking size is 6 people. We reserve the right to cancel any group bookings that do not observe this rule. Those wanting to book for a group of 5 or 6 people will need to call the spa on 0333 7007 667.
  • If your spa package includes food, please advise us of any dietary requirements in advance, thank you.

MEDICAL ADVICE

  • Should you have or have had a medical condition, please ensure that you checked with a medical professional that you are safe to both use the spa or undertake treatments before arrival. 
  • Let us help you enjoy Y Spa safely, as some areas may not be suitable for you to use and some areas may be more beneficial.
  • Please tell us if you suffer from any allergies, concerns or any of the following medical conditions:

High or low blood pressure, diabetes, pregnancy, heart condition or circulatory ailments, epilepsy, or taking any medications regularly. Sunburn, hypersensitive or heat-sensitive skin, undergoing active treatment for or diagnosed with cancer, verruca, or other skin infections/diseases.

 

PREGNANCY

  • Y Spa is delighted to welcome mothers to be and have designed a range of wonderful therapies to suit you therefore please ensure that you advise the reservations team that you are expecting and the gestation period that you will be at the time of your treatments so they can ensure that you are having the best experience.
  • Please note that general medical advice for mothers to be throughout pregnancy is to avoid the use of the heat facilities, this means the Hydro-pool, steam and saunas will be unavailable to you. We have wonderful relaxation areas containing water beds and the big sleep loungers and maybe it's the best time to indulge in some sumptuous treatments during your visit. Please contact us should you have any questions prior to making your booking.

 

ARRIVAL AT Y SPA

On arrival, you will need your QR code and will need to make your way to the Kiosks to check in, you can also use the handy wall kiosks to check your schedule or your bill too. You will be given your spa wristband on which a Spa account can be opened by pre-authorising a debit or credit card. These wrist bands open your assigned locker within the luxury changing areas and give you access to the spa. The changing areas have hairdryers, shower cubicles and hair care products for you to use. We can also lend you hair straighteners should you desire. Should you wish to use the Thermal Spa Facilities, you will need to bring your own swimsuit.

 

CLOTHING & PERSONAL BELONGINGS

We ask that swimming costumes be worn in the Thermal Spa experiences for the general comfort of everyone around.

We provide wonderful spacious lockers for all your personal effects, however, we cannot take responsibility for the loss of any belongings or jewellery, so we ask you to leave all your precious things at home for the day. Whilst enjoying your day of relaxation and in order to get the most from it, please be prepared not to use your mobile phone while in the Spa.

 

TREATMENTS

We recommend you wear underwear and a robe for all face and body treatments and dressing before your manicures and pedicures to avoid any nail smudging. We have a beautiful treatment lounge for you to relax in before or after your treatments and recommend you make your way upstairs 10 minutes before your appointment, snuggle under a blanket or sway in the contemporary rocking chair while waiting for your Y Spa therapist to whisk you away. Don't forget you can book your treatments online. If you've booked a package without treatments, you can simply log in here (top right-hand corner) and add treatments to your booking. 

 

USING OUR SPA SAFELY

We want you to enjoy your time in the Thermal Spa and so we ask you to have a read-through of the safety guidelines prior to use:

  • Please shower before entering.
  • Keeping yourself well hydrated will prevent dehydration.
  • Remember that the floor is wet so tread carefully when wandering around.
  • Please be careful when entering and leaving the Hydrotherapy Pool, handrails are there to assist you.
  • Our hydrotherapy jets are powerful, so when turning them on remember some parts of your body may be more fragile than others!

 

PRIVACY 

We hope all our guests enjoy the most wonderful, relaxing and calm surroundings that Y Spa has to offer. To ensure that all guests have a tranquil time in the spa we request that guests are mindful of each other and demonstrate appropriate behaviour, such as maintaining reasonable noise levels and not being too intimate. Guests who misbehave or act inappropriately will be asked to leave the spa and in these circumstances, no refund will be given.

 

CASH

We no longer accept cash payments at Y Spa. You can still pay with your debit/credit cards and mobile phones. We hope that this makes things easier, safer and quicker for you.

 

SMOKING

For the comfort of all our guests, the hotel and Spa are smoke-free areas, there is also no vaping.  A designated smoking shelter is available outside the hotel by the Oceania bedrooms.
