Y Spa at Wyboston Lakes makes progress…

Wyboston Lakes the UK's largest independently owned single site specialist conference, management training and leisure destination, announced last month the development of a "quite exceptional Spa facility" located on its 350 acre site midway between Cambridge and Milton Keynes.

Y Spa is so called to echo its destination and parent company Wyboston Lakes.

Now moving into the first phase of development, Y Spa is delighted to announce the appointment of Emma-Jane North, as Spa Director.  Emma-Jane started her career in the industry after a visit to Ragdale Hall Health Hydro for work experience lasting two weeks.  She loved it, but did not have the money to buy the company so she decided to work there instead!

Emma-Jane says "My plan was to stay for 6-12 months initially, so imagine my shock when 22 years later I was still there - how did that happen!"

Emma-Jane has enjoyed varying roles throughout her working life, from treatment therapist to reservations, supervisor and manager.  After a few years she was promoted to the operations team with specific responsibilities including customer service standards across the whole business, brand identity re treatment and holistic offer and operational responsibility for the business day to day.

Managing Director, Mark Jones says "We are very proud to have Emma-Jane on board, her kind of knowledge, skill and length of experience is rare in this industry and we are chuffed to bits that she has decided to join us on our journey."

Emma-Jane concludes, "Y Spa will be beautiful, functional and fun.  The concept and design are second to none, I am honoured to work with such a wonderful existing team and look forward to growing the Wyboston Lakes family. The vision is to develop a high quality and personal spa experience that adds value to the extensive leisure operation already available."

The Spa will incorporate eleven therapy rooms including three couple's rooms, steam rooms, water beds and relaxation areas with reading pods.  A signature feature is the external hydro-pool and kelo sauna in the south-facing spa garden together with an open air fireplace and sun loungers.

More information on the development will be released soon.
